DEDE CHEUNG is a world weary lesbian in recovery who was recently laid off from her photojournalist job at the LA Times, and whose long-term girlfriend had left her due to her alcohol and drug addiction. Although she sees herself as a mix of Joan Jett, Kim Gordon and Patti Smith, she is not as tough as she looks.
Dede is searching for a reason to live at a moment in her life where she feels a profound sense of isolation. She wants redemption from a past she can’t change, and a present day addiction that she’s struggling to overcome.
